Chronicles of a Rogue Soul

I was born in the foggy city of Liège, where from an early age, music called out to me like a siren from beyond the waves. It became my greatest escape, my guiding star.
At the age of twelve, my mother gifted me my first guitar and from that moment, I set sail on an endless voyage, braving every storm an artist must weather.

It was then I discovered Nirvana. That sound, raw and soaked in angst, opened a map to the grunge scene of Seattle.ust a few years later, punk-rock struck me like a cannonball to the chest.
It became my favored sea fierce, honest, and fast. Around the same time, hip-hop began to echo in my sails, and with childhood friends, I launched my first band into the wild winds.

I joined a melodic hardcore punk-rock crew called Hangin’Out, taking the helm as lead guitarist and main composer, side by side with my brother-in-arms, Sambo, a bassist I’d met in college. For a decade, we charted over 250 shows across Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. From smoky taverns to grand arenas, our journey was packed with releases, memories, laughter, and the occasional mutiny.

While I’ve always loved the camaraderie of a band, around 2009, I was drawn to the deeper, darker seas of solo production and hip-hop. Artists like Ill Bill, Jedi Mind Tricks, and La Coka Nostra lit the stars above me.I hoisted a new flag under the name IkonMusic, diving headfirst into the craft of beatmaking, mixing, and sampling. With the MPC as my compass, I began digging through crates at flea markets, uncovering forgotten treasures in vinyl form. Slowly but surely, I shaped my own sonic universe one of shadows and soul.

That year, I turned my prow toward the American scene; a land I had long admired from afar. I chose a name that fit my soul like an old leather glove: The Gloomy Sailor. With the winds of social media behind me, my name began to echo through the caverns of the underground U.S. hip-hop scene.
My sound? Gritty and fog-laced, as the name suggests, but with flashes of jazz like sunrays breaking through storm clouds.

At the close of 2023, I dropped anchor with
a powerful crew of underground MCs and producers based in Denver, Colorado and scattered across the American continent and beyond. Together, we sail toward uncharted lands of creativity, bound by loyalty, craft, and the hunger for something real.
And so, this log ends but the journey? Never.

Now, in the year 2025, a new tide rises. I unfurl my first full-length album under the God Division banner a true pirate’s map etched in sound. This record unites over thirty fierce MCs and voices from across the United States and Canada, weaving raw lyricism and dark, cinematic beats into one powerful fleet. It’s not just an album; it’s a declaration of war against mediocrity, a musical uprising launched from the belly of the underground.

I am Gloomy, your ever-roaming sailor, lost in beats, searching for meaning in sound.
Welcome aboard my pirate ship.
The ride will be rough. The weather unpredictable & I hope you don’t get seasick.
